Royal Roads University and Brookes Westshore sign MOU

Royal Roads and Brookes Westshore explore academic cooperation

Victoria – Royal Roads University and Brookes Westshore have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to foster a relationship between the educational institutions through mutual cooperation in teaching and research.

The five-year MOU sets the foundation for future cooperation and collaboration as Brookes Westshore prepares to open to students in September 2018. The Brookes Westshore campus borders Royal Roads University, creating a hub that can benefit both institutions and their students, staff and faculty.

“Royal Roads looks forward to collaborating with Brookes Westshore as it offers a high-quality education next to our Hatley Park campus,” says Royal Roads University President and Vice-Chancellor Allan Cahoon. “We share a common vision of the importance of providing our students with an exceptional educational experience, through enhanced global understanding that supports our local community as well as the labour market needs in British Columbia.”

“Brookes is delighted to collaborate with Royal Roads to create a vibrant learning community on the West Shore,” says Jerry Salvador, Director of New School Development and Director of the Americas for Brookes Education Group. “This partnership extends our commitment to innovative education and will create unique learning opportunities for our students and faculty.”

Royal Roads and Brookes Westshore have agreed to cooperate in several areas, including marketing and recruitment, pathways for Brookes students to transition to university learning at Royal Roads, and teacher training.

Royal Roads University, a public university established in 1995, delivers a progressive model of post-secondary education and research, in applied and professional programs. The university offers its students a blended learning experience combining online and on-campus instruction, as well as full time intensive on-campus instruction in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees, certificates and diplomas. It also offers professional, custom and continuing studies programs.

 

Brookes Westshore is a member of the Brookes Education Group, a global network of like-minded schools that share their passionate vision for quality, international education.
